Filippi Rigger Span & Height Setting Kit

A Filippi-branded, foam-lined hard carry case containing a practical, precision toolset to set rigger span/spread and oarlock height quickly and repeatably. The anodized aluminium measuring beam locates the boat centerline from either the saxboards or the seat rails, then locks the desired span/spread setting and transfers it directly to the rigger pin hardware.

Accurate rigging starts with repeatability. The Filippi Rigger Span & Height Setting Kit is designed for clubs, federations, and crews who want a faster, cleaner way to set rigger span/spread and oarlock height—with minimal interpretation and maximum consistency across a fleet.
Packed in a Filippi-branded, foam-lined hard protective carry case, the kit includes an anodized aluminium reference beam with an adjustable extension and dedicated scales for scull and sweep riggers.

You first establish the boat center using the beam positioned on the saxboards, or—when preferred—by using the included supports that rest on the seat rails. Once centered, you slide and lock the extension at the desired measurement, then use the terminal assembly to indicate exactly where the rigger pin must sit to match the chosen setup.

Pin inclination options (0°–3°)

To match different lateral pin inclination preferences, the kit includes four interchangeable pin-angle heads: 0° / 1° / 2° / 3°. Select the head that corresponds to your target inclination, fit it to the extension, and engage the pin hardware via the dedicated pin clamp insert.

Oarlock height setting (with the same terminal)

The pin clamp insert also functions as an oarlock height gauge. Use the dedicated upper arm and adjust its metric reference to the target height. Then adjust the oarlock until the bottom-center point inside the oarlock reaches the gauge tip—giving a clear, repeatable reference without guesswork.
