It creates a slight coating (similar to a water veil) which will gradually become protective due to its inherently high resistance to salt and brackish water. It will last for at least six months from treatment (best applied once after a washing with demineralised water) and protects the shell from bacteria and limescale without reducing its speed in the water. During this period, you can simply wash the boat with water between sessions.
